BLACKPOOL 38 - HEAD | Meyer Amps

General description

The Meyer Blackpool 38 head is a single channel medium gain custom amplifier with British roots. In contrast to the Brighton series, the Blackpool facilitates a gain and master volume together with an active buffered effects loop on the rear side.

The power amplifier features a set of selected and matched 7591 tubes (6L6GC/5881/7581 optional) and is powered by high quality transformer and a 5U4GB rectifier tube. The pre-amps section uses a combination of 5751 and ECC83/12AX7 tubes and a single ECC81/12AT7 tube.

In guitar amps, the 7591 tone is similar to a good 6L6 type but with a much better midrange. Like a good 6V6GT with crisper high notes and cleaner bass.
